Alexandre Vauvel est diplômé de Sciences Po Lyon et de l’ENS de Lyon du master « Asie Orientale Contemporaine ». Il a vécu un an dans le Nord-Est du Japon, où il a étudié le processus de reconstruction de la région du Tôhoku après le tsunami du 11 mars 2011. Son travail, retranscrit en mémoire, a remporté le Prix du Mémoire 2021 décerné par Sciences Po Lyon.
